Exam Pattern of JEST 2024
Mode
The screening exam for Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. programme in Physics and Theoretical Computer Science will be an OMR based test.
Duration
The paper will be of 3 hours
The number of questions
Physics question paper will have two parts.
- Part-A: will have 25 questions and
- Part B: will also have 25 questions.
Question paper for Theoretical Computer Science will have a total seven subjective questions. Marking scheme would be as followed:-

JEST Syllabus 2024
JEST Syllabus includes Physics and Theoretical sciences subjects. In Physics questions can be asked from Mathematical methods, Classical mechanics, Electromagnetism & optics, Quantum mechanics, Thermodynamics & statistical physics, and Electronics.
And in Theoretical Sciences questions can be asked from Analytical Reasoning and Deduction, Combinatorics, Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Principles of Programming, Data Structures, compilers, Fundamentals of Computer Algorithms, etc.
JEST Admit Card 2024
JEST Admit Card 2024 will be available soon. So candidates after applying for JEST 2024 can download their Admit Card JEST 2024 after 03rd week of January 2024.
The JEST Hall Ticket will not be sent through Post/ Email medium and candidates have to bring the JEST Call Letter and one of their Photo Id to the examination center.
JEST Answer key 2024
The Answer Key 2024 JEST will be Available in Second week of March 2024. The final answer key will be non-challengeable.
JEST Result 2024
The JEST Result 2024 will be declared in Last week of March 2024. Applicants have to enter their Email or Username and Password to download JEST Result 2024.

- General Category male Candidates: Rs. 800
- SC/ST Male applicants and Non-SC/ST Female: Rs. 400

- Enter e-mail ID and password and captcha and hit login button.

- Upload scanned copies of essential documents, your passport size photograph and signature.
- Deposit the application fee through debit/ credit card or by net banking.
- Hit submit button and take a print out of the same for further use.
