AFCAT 1 & 2 Exam Pattern 2022

AFCAT Exam Pattern
AFCAT is a recruitment examination, conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) twice a year in the month of February and August. To prepare for the exam go through the detailed exam pattern which is discussed below.
AFCAT 2022 will have 100 questions, for each correct answer you will get 3 marks. The total number of marks for all questions will be 300. There will be negative marking, and for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
There are two stages of the AFCAT 2022 Examination that are:
- Stage 1: Online AFCAT Test
- Stage 2: SSB
- STAGE – I
- STAGE – II
- STAGE – III

- The Written Exam will be conducted in two shifts in the English language.
- The Question Paper includes 100 objective questions.
- The exam duration is 120 minutes.
- AFCAT 2022 Online Test carries a total of 300 marks.

EKT Exam Pattern – Additional Details
- EKT or Engineering Knowledge Test is conducted to test the examinee’s engineering knowledge.
- This test is compulsory for candidates applying for the Technical Ground Duty branch.
- EKT 2022 is also an online test, conducted in two shifts in the English language.

AFCAT 2022 Marking Scheme
- Three marks will be allotted for every correct answer.
- One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
AFCAT Exam Pattern 2022 – SSB
Those, who will declare qualify by AFCAT Online Test, will get eligibility for SSB, which is an interview of 5 Days.
STAGE – I
- Officer Intelligence Rating Test.
- Picture perception and Discussion Test
STAGE – II
Qualified candidates by STAGE – I, will be called for the STAGE-II interview, which would take 3 -4 days. On these interview days, candidates have to go through the following tests:
- Psychological Tests (Written Test).
- Group Tests (Interactive indoor and outdoor activities).
- Personal Interview
- Those, who had applied for the flying branch then you will also have to undergo Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test.

STAGE – III
After qualifying Stage II, candidates have to appear in STAGE – III, which must be a Medical Examination either at Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi or the Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru.
STAGE – IV
- The selection board of the Air Force would prepare an All India Merit List on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Written Test and AFSB Interview (Stage I + Stage II).
- Those, whose name is mentioned in all India Merit List, will get joining instructions to join one of the Training establishments on the basis of available vacancies.
