GMAT Syllabus 2022 – Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)
This section covers:
- Writing skills and abilities
- Clarity and logic in your argument
- Overall importance of your essay with respect to the given topic
- Figure out the reasoning behind an argument
- Consider various viewpoints
- Support your answer with appropriate examples and explanation
GMAT Syllabus 2022 – Integrated Reasoning (IR)
The Integrated Reasoning (IR) section of Graduate Management Admission Test includes 12 questions of the following four types:
- Multi-source reasoning
- Graphics interpretation
- Table analysis
- Two-part analysis
GMAT 2022 Syllabus – Quants
The Quant section of GMAT-2022 has 31 questions. These questions are related to the following two sections of Quantitative Aptitude:
Data Sufficiency – The questions of this section tests the ability of the examinee to check whether given data is sufficient or not to answer a question – mostly there is no need to solve these questions entirely to choose the answer.
Problem Solving – as the name suggests, examinees need to solve these questions to get the answers. Approximately 17 to 18 problem-solving questions are asked in the GMAT Quants section.

GMAT 2022 Syllabus – Verbal
The verbal section of GMAT-2022 will have 36 questions. The three question types tested under this section are as follows:
- Sentence Correction (SC)
- Critical Reasoning (CR) [based on-premise, conclusion, assumption, etc of short passages]
- Reading Comprehension (RC)
Sentence Correction: Approximately 13 to 14 questions on sentence correction can be asked in the Test. Common grammar topics tested are:
- Subject-verb agreement
- Verb tense
- Pronouns
- Parallelism/Comparison
- Idioms
- Misplaced Modifiers
Critical Reasoning: Approximately 9 to 10 questions on critical reasoning can be asked in the test. The major question types tested are:

- Inference
- Resolve /Explain
Reading Comprehension: Long and short passages will be given to you followed by some questions based on them. Questions can be based on the entire passage or specific parts of the passage. Approximately 13 to 14 questions on reading comprehension can be asked in the test.

GMAT Exam Pattern 2022
- The exam is conducted online, i.e. it is a computer-based test.
- The total time assigned to the exam without including breaks is 3 hours and 7 minutes.
Before beginning the exam, the candidate can choose the order of sections as per their convenience. The options available for sections order according to GMAT Syllabus And Pattern is as follows:
