Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is also known as PRSU. This University provides quality education in the various disciplines of arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and other disciplines of learning. There are 29 teaching departments in the University.
The main aim of this university is to develop the university as a centre of excellence for higher education and knowledge resource. There are 180 educational institutions affiliated to PRSU. In academic year 2005-06, around 1, 25,000 students were enrolled, both for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
