Railway Group D Exam 2022:

Indian Railways is the one of the world’s largest railway networks and is the state owned enterprise governed by the Ministry of Railways of Government of India. It is authorized for conducting recruitment exam for various vacancies in different departments.

As per Latest Changes in Railway Selection Procedure, individuals are required to appear for Second Stage Examination i.e. CBT after qualifying the First Stage Online Exam 2022. Aspirants who had applied for ALP/ASM/JE/SSE/Group Exam may go through selection stages.

What are the stages in Railway Selection process 2022?

Selection process For Railways consists:

Individuals, who will qualify both stages of exam, will have to appear for another process  which consist of Typing Test (Skill Test), Aptitude Test, Document Verification and Medical Fitness Test etc.

  • CBT

Selection Procedure of Group D Recruitment by Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC):

Railway Group D Selection Process:

Selection procedure would consist of written test followed by PET (Physical Efficiency Test) of candidates. Successful candidates in written test will be called for Medical examination and Document Verification.

#1 Written Test:

  • Question paper would consist of 100 multiple choice. That would be MCQs related to general knowledge/awareness, mathematics and reasoning etc.
  • The time duration would be 90 minutes.
  • Negative Marking will be Prevail. (One mark shall be deducted for three wrong answers.)
  • The language of Question Papers will be English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu.

#2 Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Those, who will clear written examination will be called for PET in order of merit separately for each group of General, SC, ST & OBC as follows:

  • In case, the number of vacancies is below than or equal to 1500, number of persons to be called for PET should be 4 times and if the number of vacancies is more than 1500, the number of persons to be called for PET should be 3 times.
  • PET will be overseen by Selection panel of three Assistant Scale Officers nominated by DRM.
  • Physical Efficiency Test [PET] will be qualifying in nature and standard for the same will be as under:
Male Candidates Should be able to run for a
distance of 1500 metres in 6 minute
in one chance.
Female Candidates Should be able to run for a distance
of 400 metres in 3 minutes in one
chance.

 #3 Document Verification:

After successfully clearing written test and PET, selected aspirants will be called for DV. Applicants have to show their all original certificates and testimonials at the time of DV. Caniddtaes need to proceed the following documents:

  • Diploma/ Degree Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (In Case of reserve category)
  • Income Certificate for Waiving Examination Fee
  • Educational Qualification Certificate
  • Medical Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
  • NOC from serving employees/ Ex-Servicemen
  • Minority declaration on Non-judicial Stamp Paper

#4 Final Panel:

When all the process would be done then all shortlisted candidates will be called for final appointment on the post of Group-D. After last screening, applicants will be placed on the vacant positions.

Selection Process of RRB NTPC

RRB NTPC Selection Procedure:

RRB NTPC Selection Process consists of seven rounds that are as follows:

  • First Stage Online Examination (PT – CBT)
  • Second Stage Examination (Mains – CBT)
  • Typing Test (Skill Test)
  • Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Fitness Test
  • Final Merit List

#1 First Stage Online Examination:

After screening of applications, candidates have to appear for First Stage Online Examination (PT). In this round there will be 100 to 120 objectives questions. Time limit is 90 minutes or ½ hours. Negative marking is applicable for each wrong question.

The questions paper is divided into 4 sections. They are:

The candidates scoring at least 60 per cent marks will be considered qualified in the written exam. The candidates belonging to reserved category are required to score at least 50 per cent marks.

# 2 Second Stage Examination (Mains – CBT):

Successful aspirants of First Stage Online Examination (PT) have to appear for Second Stage Examination (Mains – CBT). It will includes:

  • This exam will be of objective type having multiple choice question answer. Particularly, four options will be given with every question, from which candidates have to choose appropriate option related to the question.
  • There will be 100 questions and paper will set in Hindi, English, Urdu and other local language.
  • Second Stage Examination is based on 10th class in order to evaluate the general knowledge/awareness/mathematics /reasoning etc.
  • Contenders have to solve assigned question in 90 minutes.
  • Individuals are also informed that, 1/3 mark will be take away for every wrong attempt as negative marking.

However, final assortment of candidates for further process will be made on the basis of marks obtained in second stage only.

# 3 Typing Test (Skill Test):

Individuals who qualify Second Stage Examination will be called for Typing Test (Skill Test). It will be qualifying in nature. Typing Test will be organized for which the number of aspirants equal to eight times the number of vacancies shall be called for. Candidates have to clear the following:

  • For Hindi Typing test, aspirants have to type in KrutiDev and Mangal font.
  • Applicants have to type 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only.

# 4 Psycho/ Aptitude Test

Afterwards, aspirants are required to appear for Psycho/ Aptitude Test. Contenders applying against Asst Station Master Post have to undergo Aptitude Test first. In case, if any aspirant is unable to qualify this round, then it will be moved to his/ her second preference. He/ she will not be rejected.

# 5 Document Verification:

Successful aspirants of Psycho/ Aptitude Test will be called for document verification. Contenders need to bring original documents along with the photocopies as stated below:

  • Diploma/ Degree Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Income Certificate for Waiving Examination Fee
  • Educational Qualification Certificate
  • Medical Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
  • NOC from serving employees/ Ex-Servicemen
  • Minority declaration on Non-judicial Stamp Paper

# 6 Medical Examination:

Individuals that are found eligible after the verification of documents are required to undergo medical examination. It is supervised and organized by the Railway Administration with a view to make sure that the appliers are medically fit to carry out the duties and Visual Acuity Standard.

  • Visual Standards-Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 2D).
  • Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and should pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.

# 7 Final Merit List:

Last but not the least; final merit list will be prepared. This list will be organized considering the overall performance of aspirants in First Stage Online Examination (PT – CBT), Second Stage Examination (Mains – CBT), Typing Test (Skill Test), Aptitude Test, Document Verification and Medical Fitness Test. Final merit list will comprise of name of aspirants who have successfully qualified all the rounds and are appointed for required vacancies.

RRB ALP Selection Procedure 2022

RRB ALP selection will be based on 4 stages as follows:

  • First stage CBT
  • Second stage CBT
  • Computer Based Aptitude Test (only for ALP)
  • Document Verification

Railways ALP 1st Stage CBT 2022:

The First Stage CBT is of screening nature & will be of the following pattern:

RRB ALP – 2nd Stage CBT:

  • There shall be negative marking in 1st & 2nd Stage CBT as per Railway Selection Procedure.

  • On qualifying 2nd Stage CBT, you will UNDERGO for Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
  • There shall be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test (3rd Stage).

RRB ALP Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):

Qualifying marks:

  • You need to secure minimum 42 marks in each of the ‘test of batteries’ to qualify.
  • This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation.

Railways ALP Document Verification:

If you qualify both the stages of CBT in case of Technicians & both stages of CBT and CBAT in case of ALP then you will be invited for Document Verification.

Railways RRB ALP Final Selection:

At last, ALP Merit List will be drawn from the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A.

RRB SSE Selection Procedure

RRB SSE selection process consists of only one written exam paper. Those who will score marks equal or more than cut-off marks will undergo further Railway Selection Procedure.

RRB SSE selection process consists of three stages:

(1) Written examination
(2) Document verification
(3) Medical examination

Stage 1:Written examination

Parts Questions/marks
Non-Technical 60 of 60 marks

Written Examination Structure:

  • Paper will be comprising of general intelligence & reasoning, arithmetic, general awareness, general engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical & more).
  • RRB SSE Paper is of objective type in nature.
  • RRB SSE Paper will carry 150 marks total.

 Stage 2: Document Verification

Candidates will have to produce their original documents & certificates during document verification.

Stage 3: Medical Examination

Selection Procedure of Railway for stage 3 comprise of medical examination. Candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the railway Administration.

Railway Selection Procedure for ASM/JE/Technician Posts

Selection of candidates will be done on basis of their performance in:

  • Written exam
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Skill test
  • Interview/ document verification
  • Medical test

Written examination, PET test, Interview/ document verification and medical test will be same as above. Those contestants who qualify written examination, PET test, Interview/ document verification exam be proceeding for the Skill test exam.

Skill Test:

Skill test is organized to examine the skill of participants in the specialty subjects. The appointed and medically fit aspirants will be provisionally recruited based on the merit position and the availability of the vacancy subject to verification of antecedents and will be thereafter, required to undergo training as per the requirement of the post. Once, the candidates complete their training sessions successfully, they shall be appointed on regular basis.
