Structure of SSC CGL Examination

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

  • According to the latest SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier-1 Exam, there will be 04 sections containing 25 questions each.
  • Each section consists of 50 marks so total marks for the test is 200.
  • Time duration for completing Tier-I exam is 60 minutes. It is exceeded to 75 minutes (Total) for VH and 100 minutes for candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.

After the successful completion of preliminary Tier-I Exam, you will be appearing for the Tier-2 stage of the SSC CGL 2022 Exam. The Mains Exam is an objective MCQ based exam and will be organized through online mode. This year, both Tier-II & Tier-III will be organized on the same day. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier 4 (Skill Test)

Tier-IV examination includes two skill sets required for certain Government Posts all over the nation. SSC CGL Tier 4 is also known as the Data Entry Skill Test that is used for assessing the typing speed of the contender who has qualified the Stage – 1, 2, and 3.

DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): DEST is organized to check the typing speed of the candidate who has applied for the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax). The candidates are given an article in English to be typed on Computer. It is necessary to type 2000 words in 15 minutes to qualify this test.

CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides are the three crucial modules for CPT exam. This test must be qualified by the candidates who have applied for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).

SSC CGL PST/PET Exam Pattern

Physical Standard for Male Candidates

  • Height – 170 cm.
  • Chest – 81 (Unexpanded), 85 (Expanded)
  • Race – 5 km in 24 minutes.
  • Long Jump – 14 feet (In three chances)
  • High Jump – 3’9’’ (In three chances)

Physical Standards for Female Candidates

  • Height – 157 cm.
  • Chest – There is no chest measurement for female candidates.
  • Race – 1600 meters in 8.30 minutes.
  • Long Jump – 10 feet (In three chances)
  • High Jump – 3’ (In three chances)

Important Instructions:

  • Visually Handicapped/ Cerebral Palsy candidates will get compensatory time of 40 minutes for completion of the exam.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Answer Keys will be placed on official website after examination. Any representation regarding answer key received within 7 days of uploading of the answer key will be scrutinized and the decision of the organization in this regard will be final.
